Demo derby, truck and tractor pulls return to Western Ky. State Fairgrounds for fall events

If you hear the sounds of tractor-pulling and car crashing into each other on the weekend of September 19, it doesn’t mean you’ve gone back in time—it means it’s time for the Western Kentucky State Fair Fall Events.

You could consider it a mini-version of the usual fair, with events set to take place in the grandstands at the fairgrounds in Hopkinsville on September 19 and September 20. Fair Board Chair Kent Boyd says they’ve had a busy year so far at the fairgrounds, from the fair itself to the recent rodeo—and they’re looking to keep the fun going.

Boyd says on the first night, they’ll have Farm and Altered Farm Truck and Tractor Pulls starting at 7 p.m. and then it’s the return of the Demolition Derby on September 20 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 to get into the grandstands, and box seats will be available for these events.

Then, planning will really get into full swing for the 2026 Western Kentucky State Fair, which is currently set for June 26 through July 4, and it’s sure to be big, as 2026 will mark the 75th anniversary of the fair. Stay informed online, at westernkentuckystatefair.org.
