Deputies of the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Hopkinsville men for drug trafficking and possession following a traffic stop on Wednesday.
The driver, 38-year-old Deven Harris of Hopkinsville and the passenger 62-year-old Anthony Foti of Hopkinsville were witnessed operating a vehicle on High Street and failed to use a turn signal.
The pair were witnessed by K9 Deputy Josh Stallons who noticed Foti who reportedly had outstanding arrest warrants. Stallons performed a traffic stop on the pair’s vehicle and reportedly noticed a strong marijuana odor coming from the vehicle.
Harris admitted to marijuana being in the vehicle and in their search, deputies found a bag that reportedly contained various items of marijuana and a digital scale and another bag containing three rocks of suspected crack cocaine.
Both Harris and Foti denied ownership of the suspected cocaine.
Harris was charged with failing to use a turn signal, having no insurance, trafficking in marijuana, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license. Foti was charged with failure to appear warrants, possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
