Dry weather for the week with storms possible in the weekend

Our spring roller-coaster is set to continue weather wise, with dry, sunny weather set for the work week to be followed by the potential for storms on the weekend.

Temperatures are going to be just above normal for the week, with only small chances of rain in the forecast—but that won’t last, according to Meteorologist David Witten with the National Weather Service in Paducah, who says our next chance for stormy weather arrives on the weekend.

There’s a risk for severe storms on Saturday—with the bulk of the severe threat to our west—but the entire area is at risk for Sunday. Witten says they’re still working on the details, so make sure you stay tuned to the National Weather Service.

He says you can expect more of the same heading into April. Temperatures are trending above average, which Witten means can only spell more chances for thunderstorms, but spring is here to stay.

In the long range outlook, there’s no real sign of winter in the data, with precipitation chances hovering around near normal.
