Dupin receives assault case dismissal, probation for drug possession

Bobbie Dupin appeared in Christian Circuit Court on Wednesday where his assault charge was dismissed after the alleged victim recanted her statement and he received final sentencing for a drug possession charge.

In April of 2023, Dupin was charged with first-degree assault and taken into custody after he allegedly assaulted a woman with brass knuckles, in Court in January the alleged victim recanted her report of assault. This resulted in Dupin being released from custody.

On Wednesday, Circuit Court Judge Andrew Self formally dismissed Dupin’s first-degree assault charge.

Dupin was also facing a charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance for methamphetamine. Self imposed a two-year sentence, but probated it for three years.

Self told Dupin that as long as he does not commit any probation violations then this drug possession charge will be behind him.
