The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council is keeping their eyes their eyes on the future as we enter into the holiday season, with hope that some announcements may come soon.
Speaking with WHOP Friday morning, Executive Director Carter Hendricks says they typically experience a lull in communications with industries during election season, as most industries wait to see who will be in office before making any big decisions.
That said, he says things have stayed pretty steady in the ways of inquiries and interest in the region, and he explained some of thing’s industries search for when settling into a region. In the way of retail, he says it’s all about the numbers—companies look into the data about an area before settling there, from population, to workforce, to buyers and everything in between.
Hendricks says they’ve had a lot of interest on the spec buildings in both Christian and Trigg counties, and even though some things didn’t pan out with the Christian County location, he’s hopeful they’ll have some good news concerning that soon.
