If you just can’t wait for the Fourth of July to get your fireworks and celebration fix, then Elkton has just the event for you on Thursday.
Elkton’s July 3rd on the Square is back on Thursday with live music, activities for kids and of course, the main show of the fireworks show brought to the town by B.R. Knuckles Insurance. Johnny Knuckles appeared on WHOP Tuesday morning and says the free event kicks off at 6 p.m. and will be home to about 14 different food trucks, and the free concert featuring Jordan Rainer starts at 6:30 p.m.
He says the annual Bike Parade gets underway at 6 p.m., and that parade is open to numerous wheeled participants, including strollers, wagons, wheelchairs, scooters and tricycles, and it will trace its way around the square.
Then, once the sun goes down, the fireworks will start to light up the night sky, and Knuckles says you’ll be able to see them from just about anywhere near the square, so finding a good watching spot shouldn’t be too hard.
Line up for the parade will start at 5:30 p.m. at Elkton Baptist Church, and participants are encouraged to decorate their wheels in red, white and blue. Everyone is invited to join Elkton for their celebration, and for more information, visit the Todd County Chamber of Commerce on Facebook.
