Evidence continues to be sought in the murder case against Oziya Narcisse, the man accused in the shooting death of Isaiah McCoy in Oak Grove.
Narcisse appeared in the Christian Circuit Courtroom of Judge John Atkins Wednesday morning, where public defender Doug Moore informed the court that they continue to wait for some evidence to be turned over by the Commonwealth, specifically medical records from Vanderbilt University Medical Center and an autopsy report.
Assistant Commonwealth’s Mark Gilbert says he’ll pursue the autopsy report further, but he’s been having just as much trouble getting records from Vanderbilt as they have.
Judge Atkins urged them both to put the pressure on Vanderbilt and get a subpoena if necessary to compel them to comply, saying they should have had these records a long time ago.
Another pretrial conference was set for June 25.
