Two people were able to escape from a house fire on North Drive Tuesday night.
According to the Hopkinsville Fire Department, firefighters responded to a home in the 600 block of North Drive around 8:45 p.m. and found an active kitchen fire inside the single-family apartment. They were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, keeping it from spreading to other parts of the structure.
An adult and one child were able to escape the home, with the adult treated by EMS for mild smoke inhalation at the scene. The family was temporarily displaced due to damage to the home.
No firefighters were injured.
