The weather looks to feel like late spring and early summer this week, with warm temperatures and chances for rain and storms.
The biggest chance for heavy rain in the area was actually on Monday and into Tuesday, but once that moves through, the chances for storms moves back into the area Thursday. Meteorologist Justin Gibbs with the National Weather Service in Paducah says it’s a difficult weather system to pinpoint, but with warm temperatures and plenty of moisture to pull from, its likely someone will get some rain and storms.
They’re not expecting much in the way of severe weather, but Gibbs says to just stay alert, as May is known to bringing “pop-up” severe storms.
Warm temperatures will stick around this week, with some places possibly reaching the mid-80’s by Wednesday.
Those temperatures look to stick around next week, with the 8-to-14 day outlook showing warmer than average temperatures, with near normal projections for precipitation.
