The Festival of Trees, hosted by the Pennyroyal Center, is set to take over the Bruce Convention Center this week, and they have over 30 different trees set to go up.
They have slowly outgrown their previous event spaces, due to more and more people and organizations wanting to get involved in the decorating extravaganza, and organizer Zoey Edwards they have 32 trees for people to enjoy this year. They’ll be viewable on both Friday and Saturday, with Friday by appointment only.
Edwards says attendees will have a chance to win a tree to take home—raffle tickets will be on sale for $1 each, and they’ll draw for the winners on Saturday.
Outside of that, the Festival of Trees is completely free to attend, and there will also be Christmas-themed activities happening throughout the event.
Edwards says the money raised from the festival will go back into the Pennyroyal Center, and therefore helping support those who use their services.
People can vote on their favorites to see who takes home the title of Grand Champion in the Battle of the Trees. The Festival of Trees is December 13 and December 14 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. both days at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.
