It was business as usual at Tuesday’s meeting of the Christian Fiscal Court, as they approved appointments to several boards and heard an update on the renovations at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library.
Library Director Tiffany Luna provided the update during the public comments portion of the meeting, as says that although there is still work to be done, the library is open to the public and has already significantly changed. She says right now, everything is on the first floor as work is done to the second floor of the library, so they’ve had to consolidate some things in the meantime.
There have been a couple of hiccups in the process, but Luna says they’re on track for their completion date of April 2025.
Motorists should be aware that a large container is sitting outside of the library on Bethel Street, causing some restrictions to traffic flow, so use appropriate caution when traveling in that area.
Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam says work has begun on their legislative’s priorities, and they’re working with state and federal legislators to work on funding and further plans for infrastructure and other items in the county.
Magistrates made appointments to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Airport Board and the Christian County Water District Board. They also made amendment to the 2024 Christian County Clerk’s Office budget, transferring funds from the general budget to the equipment budget.
