The National Weather Service in Paducah is continuing to conduct surveys across western Kentucky, but officials have confirmed that at least a high-end EF-3 tornado impacted areas from near Eddyville over to Earlington, tracking its way through Lyon, Caldwell, Hopkins and Muhlenberg counties Sunday.
That finding is preliminary and due to the severe tornado damage, a team of experts in structural engineering will be providing expertise in determining this tornado’s damage rating.
Governor Andy Beshear confirmed that five people were killed in Sunday’s storms in Kentucky, and clean-up efforts are underway once again in western Kentucky, a feeling some communities know all too well. Governor Beshear has declared a state of emergency due to the damage caused by storms.
