A Fort Campbell man is facing numerous charges following a high-speed pursuit involving a motorcycle Sunday afternoon.
According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle driven by 20-year-old Cody Dexter of Fort Campbell when it was observed going 96 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone.
Instead of stopping, Dexter allegedly fled at a high-rate of speed—reportedly reaching speeds of 150 miles per hour at times—with a passenger on the motorcycle. The pursuit spanned roughly seven miles, where Dexter allegedly swerved in and out of traffic and ran multiple red lights.
Dexter eventually stopped near the 8900 block of Fort Campbell Boulevard, where the passenger reportedly told deputies she had fear for her safety and urged Dexter to stop.
Dexter was taken into custody and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, reckless driving, speeding and several other traffic violations.
