Funding for Oak Grove water project gets approval

Governor Andy Beshear has signed House Joint Resolution 81, which paves the way for water system improvement projects across the state, including in Oak Grove.

With his signature, it releases $52 million, with roughly $26 million of that going to projects in Martin County, addressing longstanding water system issues there. But $2 million of that funding is heading to the City of Oak Grove, for the KY 115 and Carneal Lane waterline extension and tank construction.

HJR 81 was passed as a matter of emergency, which means it will take effect immediately following its passage and approval by the Governor.

Governor Beshear says, “Team Kentucky has made significant progress in delivering clean water and reliable systems, and we’re committed to doing even more. This funding will make a difference, and I was proud to sign HJR 81 so we can get to work and deliver results.”
