The Pembroke Fire Department has received a rescue boat from the Gary Sinise Foundation following flooding and increased water rescues in a historic flooding incident.
The large, bright yellow raft-type boat would benefit not just the people of Pembroke, but citizens across the county. Magistrate Phillip Peterson says the Foundation also donated all the equipment that goes with it.
He says they’ll start training immediately on proper usage of that equipment, including first responders from numerous agencies in that training. Peterson thanked the Gary Sinise Foundation, saying its great to see people doing something good to help out their fellow man.
The Gary Sinise Foundation was established under the philanthropic direction of award-winning actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise, who has been an advocate of our nation’s defenders for forty years.
Sinise is no stranger to the Hopkinsville and Fort Campbell area, having come here in 2022 to do a benefit fundraiser with his Lt. Dan Band to support veterans and non-profits that support veterans and military families.
