Andrew Goins has been appointed as the interim principal and Hopkinsville Middle School.
Goins has been serving as assistant principal, but steps into this new role as currently Principal Nichole Poindexter accepts a new position in the district. According to a news release, Goins brings 14 years of education experience into his new role as interim principal.
Prior to joining the teaching staff at Hopkinsville High School in 2013, he taught at Heritage Christian Academy and Paducah Tilghman High School. He transitioned to assistant principal at Freedom Elementary in 2019 and returned to Hopkinsville High as assistant principal.
Goins is a graduate of Murray State University and holds two master’s degrees from the University of the Cumberlands.
Goins says, “I am excited to have the opportunity to lead Hopkinsville Middle School. I am honored and privileged to work alongside our tremendous students, staff, and families. I am grateful for the opportunity to help our students find academic success and help them strive to meet their potential.”
