Spring is officially here and to celebrate, Vansauwa’s Tacos & Vegan Eats along with several other local food trucks and vendors are coming together to host the first ever Hello Spring Festival on Saturday.
As the weather warms up, Desaepa and Zirconia Vansauwa, the owners of Vansauwa’s Taco & Vegan Eats, wanted to do something that would get folks back outside. Desaepa Vansauwa says while Summer Salute bids farewell to the warm weather, their festival will be welcoming it and invites folks to leave behind the winter blues.
Desaepa Vansauwa says the festival will also be an opportunity to introduce folks to some of Hopkinsville’s small businesses, eateries and talent.
The festival is set to include activities for all ages. The Kid’s Zone will have bounce houses, games and dessert food trucks. The Hangout will be an area for teenagers and will have a barber shop stop offering free lineups. Then the Adult Corner is an age restricted zone, that will include an area to relax and play yard games.
The Vendor Square is set to have a wide array of artisans and crafters, selling jewelry, clothes and much more. Some of the vendors setting up will be Chained x Bree Permanent Jewelry, Ol Skool Graphics LLC, Uniquely Braced, Sweet Cynful Nails and much more.
Then for a bite to eat or something to drink, folks can go to Vansauwa’s Tacos & Vegan Eats, Padma’s Natural Kitchen, Tia’s Burgers, Janae’s Italian Ice, DJ’s Lemonade and much more.
Turning toward entertainment, the festival will include live music by instrumentalist Jerone Williams, Corey Thomas and DJ Buddafly. Desaepa Vansauwa says their will be line dancing and yoga for those wanting to shake of that winter stiffness.
Zirconia Vansauwa says they have had the idea for the festival for around a year and are looking forward to the community joining them for a day of fun.
The festival is set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at Virginia Park in downtown Hopkinsville. If the festival is canceled because of the weather, it will be moved to Sunday. The full list of vendors, food trucks and activities is available at Vansauwa’s Taco & Vegan Eats on Facebook.
