Home damaged, family displaced in Bahama Drive

A home was damaged in a fire Thursday night on Bahama Drive.

According to the Hopkinsville Fire Department, firefighters responded to the 3700 block of Bahama Drive at approximately 8:20 p.m. for reports of smoke coming from the kitchen area of a residence. Firefighters arrived and were able to get the fire under control quickly, containing it to the kitchen and laundry area.

There was however, significant smoke damage throughout the home. Four occupants and a dog were able to safely evacuate, with no injuries reported.

The Red Cross was called to assist the family, who will be displaced.
