Members of the Hopkinsville EMS have received a Stork pin and a Coin of Excellence after their efforts in safely delivering a baby earlier this month.
On January 4, Battalion 1-Medic 11 was dispatched to call of a woman in labor who was having contractions closely together—patient care began immediately on the expectant mother, and she was rushed to the hospital.
By the time the crew arrived to the hospital, one patient had become two patients, as a baby girl was safely delivered while in route. Both mother and baby are reportedly doing great.
Chief Steve Futrell presented AEMT Shea Mueller and Paramedic Melina Young with a Stork Pin and a Coin of Excellence in recognition of a job well done, and the ability to perform their duties with excellence and great care for their patients.
