Hopkinsville LWV prepared for debate forums, candidate meet and greet event

It is officially election season—if you couldn’t tell by the political signs by the roads and the sounds of hopeful candidates on the radio—which means its time for the League of Women Voters debate forums.

The first of the debates between candidates running for Christian County School Board will take place Monday evening, but they won’t be the last, with co-presidents Nikki Chambers and Mona Sheth saying more forums are set to take place throughout the month.

If you want a chance to meet the candidates running for office and some of those who are currently sitting in those seats, the League is hosting a meet-and-greet event on Wednesday at the Hopkinsville Brewing Company starting at 5 p.m.

Chambers also highlight that early voting begins soon in Christian County, and she urged residents to take advantage of all the ways it has been made easier to vote in Kentucky, because their vote—and their voice—are of vital importance.

You can keep track of all the Hopkinsville League of Women Voters debate forums and other upcoming events by following them on Facebook. There’s also a form where you can submit a question that could be asked to the candidates during the debates.
