The Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Jason Birdsong of Hopkinsville on multiple charges after he attempted to flee the scene of an accident on Friday.
According to an eye witness, Birdsong was driving on Greenville Road when he veered into oncoming traffic and crashed into a property along the road. Birdsong was reportedly ejected from the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene on foot.
Birdsong was reportedly located by law enforcement around a half a mile south from the accident scene. A search of Birdsong’s vehicle reportedly revealed a loaded shotgun and a glass pipe containing methamphetamine.
Birdsong was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to render assistance, driving on a DUI suspended license and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
