Hopkinsville man federally sentenced for firearm charge

A Hopkinsville man has been sentenced to nearly five years in federal prison for charges of illegally possessing a firearm while being a convicted felon. 

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney of the Western District of Kentucky, 42-year-old Eric Clark of Hopkinsville was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison, following three years of supervised release on Wednesday. He was convicted of unlawfully possessing a RG Industries .22 caliber revolver in December of 2020.

Clark was prohibited from possessing a firearm because he had previously been convicted on three separate felony charges in Christian County. 

There is no parole in the federal system.
