A Kentucky federal jury found 46-year-old Robert Blaine of Hopkinsville guilty of conspiring to obtain and distribute drugs and money laundering on Thursday.
According to a report, between May 2020 and January 2022, Blaine conspired with two other individuals, 40-year-old Jessica Ochoa of Phoenix, Arizona and 36-year-old Roderick Tutt of Hopkinsville to possess with the intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine and over 400 grams of fentanyl.
Blaine reportedly sent Ochoa the money for the drugs and Tutt traveled to Arizona to pick it up. On his way back to Hopkinsville, Tutt was reportedly arrested and had 2,059 fentanyl pills and around 8 kilograms of methamphetamine in his possession.
Both Ochoa and Tutt pled guilty for their involvement and are set to be sentenced in federal court on March 25.
Blaine was found guilty of intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, as well as seven counts of money laundering. He will be sentenced on May 5 and faces a minimum of 25 years in prison. Parole is not available in the federal system.
