Hopkinsville Parks and Rec gearing up for a busy spring and summer schedule

After a break during the winter months, Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation is ready to get back into gear, and they have a full schedule set for 2026.

It won’t be long before that first event of the year is here, and the nighttime WHOP’er of an egg hunt will get things started off right. Coordinator Pam Rudd says thousands of eggs will be set for the taking for kids of all ages—the hunt is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Tiebreaker Athletic Fields on April 3.

After that, it’s full steam ahead towards a full spring and summer, with Parks and Recreation Superintendent Toby Hudson saying you can find a full schedule online at hoptownrec.com

Rudd says vendor sign ups for this year’s Summer Salute Festival will open in the not-so-distant future, and those spots always go fast, so stay tuned for updates.

Hudson says some things have changed in their line-up this year, with no plans at this time for the return of the Hoptown Hose Down, but they’ll have a new movie series coming for people to enjoy.

This year will also bring Yoga in the Park on Saturdays throughout the year in partnership with Balance Yoga, Hoptown Nights starting in April, Softball Tournaments, firework shows, Hoptown Idol, the Hoptown Half-Marathon and 5K and many, many more events.
