Starting April 13, Hopkinsville Solid Waste Enterprise will instating some changes to their residential trash collection services and they want their customers to be aware.
According to an informational update, officials say all residential garbage needs to be placed inside of your trash container, with boxes to be broken down enough that they will fit inside of the container. Bagged garbage or boxes that are outside of the container will not be collected.
Those who have extra garbage on a weekly basis would need to call and request an additional garbage container, which is $25 per month.
Officials say these changes will allow them to stay in compliance with city ordinances and help reduce the operational costs of the residential trash collection service.
Normal bulk items and yard material will still be collected as normal.
