A Hopkinsville woman is facing a manslaughter charge, following investigation into an overdose death in Todd County that happened in June.
According to a news release from the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, investigation began on June 18 into the suspicious death of a 21-year-old male victim in Elkton. Toxicology reports from the Medical Examiner’s Office showed that the victim had suffered from a Fentanyl overdose. During that investigation, information regarding a suspect was gained.
On Tuesday, law enforcement took 32-year-old Whitney Harper of Hopkinsville into custody. She is accused of supplying the Fentanyl to the victim, leading to his death.
She is charged with second-degree manslaughter and was lodged in the Todd County Detention Center.
The investigation was a joint effort between the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, the Todd County Sheriff’s Department and the Christian County Sheriff’s Office.
