A Hopkinsville woman is facing an assault charge following an altercation on Braden Street early Sunday morning.
According to the report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers responded to the 400 block of Braden for reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers observed 32-year-old Shanterica Battle of Hopkinsville drop a large knife inside of the residence before she stepped back outside.
Investigation revealed that a male victim on the scene had multiple injuries to his person that he was bleeding from. A physical altercation had occurred between the victim and another male at the residence, before one also began between the victim and Battle.
Battle was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
