A Hopkinsville woman is facing multiple charges of first-degree assault following investigation into a disturbance on Lafayette Road Monday night.
According to the Chrisitan County Sheriff’s Department report, deputies responded to the 4500 block of Lafayette Road around 11 p.m. for reports of a disturbance, but upon arrival, could not locate the two vehicles mentioned in the 911 call. While investigating, another call came in regarding individuals who arrived at Jennie Stuart Medical Center with injuries.
It was determined those individuals had come from the location on Lafayette Road. Investigation determined that 19-year-old Christian Babb of Hopkinsville had allegedly entered an apartment without permission and began assaulting a woman inside.
The conflict continued outside of the residence between Babb and two female victims. Babb allegedly put her vehicle into reverse while the door was still open, hitting two individuals.
She then allegedly accelerated forward, striking another vehicle. Two women went to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
In the police report, Babb told officers that she had been invited to the residence by someone who lived there, but he didn’t open the door fully when she arrived. A physical fight began between her and two others, which is when she left by getting into her car and driving off, though reportedly the fight continued into the vehicle as well.
Babb was arrested a few hours later and charged with one count of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, second-degree burglary and leaving the scene of an accident.
