Hopkinsville YMCA spotlights upcoming events

Staff members from the Hopkinsville Christian County YMCA recently appeared on WHOP to spotlight some of their upcoming events.

Ashley Whitecotton and Octavia Vincent from the YMCA invited the community to their open house set for February 1 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Whitecotton says folks can take a tour of the facility, participate in an aerobathon sample class, learn the basics of pickle ball and win giveaways.

Whitecotton says those who want to join the YMCA can do so at the open house and the joining fee will be waved.

Before the open house, the YMCA will be hosting their annual meeting on January 30 at 5 p.m. Staff and board members will share a 2024 recap and highlight their plans for 2025. Awards will also be given out for role model of the year, volunteer of the year and coach of the year. Those interested in attending can RSVP by calling 270-887-5382.

On Valentine’ Day, Whitecotton says they will be hosting a Parent’s Night Out and coming in spring, youth sports such as soccer, flag football and cheerleading and their Spring Break Camp will be open for registration.

As sports resume the YMCA is looking for more referees. More information about YMCA events and programs is available at hopkinsvilleymca.org.
