Hopkinsville police are investigating after a dog was found deceased in a crate on West Edmunds Street Thursday.
According to the police report, Animal Control responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Edmunds for reports of animal cruelty and found the animal in a wire crate underneath a car port. The dog was deceased upon arrival.
The incident is being investigated as second-degree cruelty to animals and torture of a dog with physical injury or death. No arrests have yet been made.
