The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating an assault that happened on Saturday that left a woman with injuries.
According to the incident report, a suspect—whose identity is redacted on the report—forced their way into the victim’s residence, flipping the dining room table and violating an Emergency Protect Order between the two. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
Not too long after, the victim called for police again, saying the suspect had assaulted her by striking her in the head with a glass bottle.
The strike caused a laceration to the right side of the victim’s face.
The incident is being investigated as second-degree assault, second-degree burglary and violation of an EPO.
