The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred early Monday morning on East 18th Street.
According to Public Information Officer Collette Marfil, the incident happened just before 12:30 a.m. where a victim sustained injuries to the back of the head from an assault. The suspect took items from the victim and fled the scene before officers arrived.
No other information was immediately available, as detectives continue to investigate. The incident is being investigated as first-degree robbery and first-degree assault.
