Law enforcement officials, community leaders and local advocates will come together on January 15, as Sanctuary, Inc. hosts a human trafficking awareness event.
Dubbed “Unseen No More: Hope Beyond the Darkness”, this human trafficking awareness and training event will take place January 15 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Silo Event Center. This event is free to attend, with registration required—register by January 10 on Eventbrite.
There will be a proclamation read by Hopkinsville Mayor James R. Knight and Christian County Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam, and it will feature a presentation of human trafficking research and trends presented by keynote speaker Dr. Jeanne Allert of the Institute of Survivor Care. There will be a panel and an overview of training opportunities and resources as well.
This training is designed to equip attendees with the right tools to educate, recognize, respond and prevent human trafficking in the community. Sanctuary, Inc. and the Pennyrile Children’s Advocacy Center are teaming up to host this event.
For more information, call the Sanctuary business line at 270-885-4572 and ask to speak with Executive Director Heather Lancaster.
