The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a child who was located unresponsive in a swimming pool Sunday afternoon.
According to a news release, officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Rabbit Ridge Road in Nebo around 4:30 p.m. where a three-year-old was found unresponsive in a swimming pool, and CPR was performed.
The toddler was transported to Baptist Health-Deaconess Hospital in Madisonville, where they would be pronounced deceased.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office, and the local Cabinet for Health and Family Services began a death investigation which is still pending.
