Rahkeem Francis, the Director of the Jennie Stuart Medical Center Emergency Department appeared on WHOP on Tuesday to highlight their recent emergency room expansions and what renovations they still have in the works.
In the most recent expansion, which opened to patients on March 14, Francis shares that individual emergency rooms sizes were increased by around 30% and 11 rooms, 14 beds and 14 triage bays were also added.
The emergency waiting room is still undergoing renovations which should be completed in the coming weeks and Francis says the space will be bigger and more comfortable for patients.
Along with the expansion, Francis says they have received new equipment that will enhance the care they provide. Francis says they now have equipment that can perform mechanical chest compressions, transport mechanical ventilators and carbon dioxide room pressure monitors.
With the recent expansion and more up-to-date equipment, Francis they are able to provide more efficient care to their patients.
Francis says the current emergency department renovations are set to be completed by June or July.
