Presidents of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and Western Kentucky University reaffirmed their goal to support transfer students pursuing bachelor’s degrees at a news conference on Thursday.
In 2009, WKU President Timothy Caboni says his institution and KCTCS began working on agreements to support students from the 16 state community colleges across Kentucky who want to continue their education after receiving their associate’s degree.
According to news release, KCTCS students that transfer to WKU have access to transfer scholarships up to $4,000 and support services.
KCTCS President Ryan Quarles says he is excited to continue the partnership with WKU to provide a seamless transfer process for students. Each year, around 14,000 KCTCS students reportedly transfer to a four-year college or university.
