Longtime Public Information Officer for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in the first district is on his way out as he heads into retirement.
The KYTC is in the process of hiring a replacement for Keith Todd—and those will be some big shoes to fill, as Todd has served for nearly 20 years and has seen his share of historic events. Some of those include the Christmas week snowstorm in 2004 to the Great Ice Storm of 2009, the Eggners Ferry Bridge Incident, the construction of five long-span river bridges and the Mayfield tornado response in 2021, just to name a few.
Todd says he plans to spend time with his grandkids, spend a little extra time hunting and fishing, while planning some large road trips to get some traveling under his belt. Beyond that, he says, he’ll see where the road takes him.
It may take some time to fill the position, so in the meantime, District 2 PIO Matt Hughes will be filling in, starting on August 5.
