The Commonwealth is celebrating after 2024 had the lowest number of highway fatalities on record in nine years.
During the Team Kentucky update, Governor Andy Beshear announced that deaths in highway crashes dropped 14 percent in 2024 when compared to 2023, and he says that also resulted in less injuries, which is tremendous.
The governor credited all Kentucky drivers for their efforts to driver safe over the last year, and says they hope to keep that momentum going for the 2025 with numerous initiatives, such as the Safe Teen Driving Challenge.
In light of recent tragedies, the governor urged everyone to keep up the good work in staying safe, saying each life lost on Kentucky roadways is preventable.
