Kitchen Food Company coming to Christian County

The news is out—a new industry is looking to make Christian County home on Frank Yost Lane.

Kitchen Food Company is an Australian-based company that focuses on creating ready-to-eat meals, and Christian County Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam says it’s going to be a big benefit to the local economy. He clarified that the business will occupy the spec building and will bring some good variety to the local industries.

Judge Gilliam described the ready-to-go meals as a healthy option for busy families.

He says the Fiscal Court approved a grant in the amount of $1 million to go towards the company as an incentive, and Hopkinsville City Council approved a $4.5 million grant—so while there are still details to iron-out before it’s finalized, he say’s they done their part to pave the way for Kitchen Food Company.

Gilliam says this industry could benefit the area in numerous ways, including the local agriculture industry, as they’ll hopefully be looking for ways to get some products from area farmers, keeping ingredients local.
