KSP investigating after woman passes away at CCJ

Kentucky State Police are investigating after an individual passed away at the Christian County Jail Saturday.

EMS was called the jail for reports that a woman who was lodged there was experiencing a medical emergency that was suspected to be caused by a drug overdose, according to Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Captain Payton Rogers. The woman was arrested earlier in the evening by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department and charged with possession of a controlled substance (opiates).

KSP Post 2 Public Information Officer Brayden Thomas tells WHOP News that an investigation is underway and there is no foul play suspected at this time. An autopsy was set to be conducted.

The Christian County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim was 31-year-old Zoe Nicole Johnson of Brentwood, Tennessee.
