Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Hopkins County on the Pennyrile Parkway near Nortonville from early Saturday morning.
According to a news release, it happened around 5:30 a.m. when a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Desmond Washington of Fort Campbell was travelling northbound and crossed into the southbound lanes for an unknown reason into oncoming traffic.
It collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Calo Morente of Nashville.
A passenger in Morente’s vehicle, 36-year-old Matias Juarez of Nashville, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner.
KSP was assisted on scene by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, Kentucky State Highway Department, and the Hopkins County coroner.
