Kentucky State Police are investigating a collision in Hart County that involved a train and a passenger car.
According to a news release, it happened just after midnight on Sunday and preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle was heading west on West Main Street in Horse Cave, approaching railroad tracks, as a train was heading south.
The vehicle reportedly attempted to cross the tracks at Guthrie Street at the railroad crossing arms were lowering, and was struck by the train.
The driver and a passenger—who have not been identified—were flown to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of injuries.
