Ky. League of Cities license plate to support disaster relief, designed by Hopkinsville native

The Kentucky League of Cities officially has a license plate in production to support disaster-relief, and it was designed by an individual with Hopkinsville ties.

The “Cities Drive Kentucky” license plate is in production now, and is expected to make it to local county clerk offices across the Commonwealth in March. According to the Kentucky League of Cities, proceeds from the Cities Drive Kentucky plate support the KLC Cities Helping Cities Fund, a disaster-relief initiative helping Kentucky cities respond quickly to natural disasters. Funds from the plate provide immediate aid to cities hit by tornadoes, flooding, hail, severe storms, and other emergencies.

The plate was designed by Hopkinsville native and artist Rachel Rummage Blevins, employed by the KLC.

This plate comes as insurance data shows the growing need for rapid disaster response, as from 2021 to early 2026, severe weather has caused tens of millions of dollars of damage to Kentucky cities.

Each plate costs $44 a year. The state gives $10 from each sale to KLC, which will use 100 percent of those funds for the Cities Helping Cities fund.
