KYTC crews to begin highway striping  

Contractors for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will begin highway striping operations for Caldwell, Christian, Hopkins, Muhlenberg and other surrounding counties. Four Crews will be applying over 3,400 miles of new white and yellow stripes starting Monday, May 20th, and continuing through the week.

Crew will paint yellow stripes in Hopkins County starting on Monday. They will paint 127 miles of roadway before moving on to Caldwell, Christian and Muhlenberg counties in that order. 1,679 miles of roadway will be painted in total.

A second crew will begin painting white stripes in Caldwell County before moving to Christian, Muhlenberg and Hopkins Counties. This crew will paint just over 824 miles of roadway.

In Muhlenberg County, two crews will begin painting 806 miles of yellow stripes, and 145 miles of white stripes. Both crews will move through Christian, Caldwell and Hopkins counties.

Striping crews can complete 40 to 60 miles of roadway per day on average, however factors such as the weather may affect these times. Motorists should be mindful of slow-moving work crews when traveling through the above counties. There will be no marked detours.
