Lane restrictions to start Sunday at Cerulean Road overpass on I-24 in Trigg Co.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to have some restrictions in place near the 62-mile-marker of I-24 in Trigg County to make some repairs.

Work zone lane restrictions will be in place starting April 6 during the overnight hours, starting at 9 p.m. and lasting until 6 a.m. each night in the eastbound lanes near the 62-mile-marker. This is to allow for crews to repair damage to steel beams on the Cerulean Road overpass.

Crews will be working in the right-hand lane, so motorists should be alert for signs and message boards directing traffic to shift into the left-hand lane.

That does mean that there will also be a lane restriction on Cerulean Road at the overpass crossing over I-24. The project is expected to be completed around April 18, weather permitting.

In June 2024, bridge inspectors found evidence the steel beams that support the overpass had been struck by a passing truck and some non-structural pieces of concrete edging had fallen into and along I-24.
