Governor Andy Beshear announced Wednesday that $1.5 million is going to Kentucky river ports to support operations.
The funds have been spread across six projects, with five going to Kentucky’s public riverports. The funding for the projects comes from a grant program established through the 2024 General Assembly, with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet responsible for administering the funds.
In the latest round of Kentucky Public Riverport Construction and Maintenance awards the Eddyville Riverport and Industrial Development Authority received over $515,000 and the Puducah-McCraken County Riverport Authority received roughly $61,000.
Both entities plan to use the money to improve overall riverport operation.
