The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library invites the community to show off their art skills and have their creations featured in the library’s renovated Youth Services Area.
The library is hosting an art contest open to all ages and four winners will be selected. Not only will the winners have their art displayed in the library, but they will receive a prize of $250.
The competition is being sponsored by a group called the Hopkinsville-Christian County Friends of the Library. According to the guidelines, the library is looking for drawings, paintings and graphic design pieces that complement the art already in the space and shared two examples.
Library Executive Director, Tiffany Luna says the renovated Youth Services area will have a children’s area for the library’s youngest patrons and a designated space for teens to enjoy, so they need a variety of artwork that appeals to a range of ages.
Pieces should be submitted on paper or canvas and be no larger than 18 inches by 24 inches. Applications and guidelines are available at hccpl.org and the deadline is 6:30 p.m. on March 31.
