Local grand jury issues indictments for robbery, endangerment crimes

A Christian County Grand Jury issued indictments for robbery, endangerment and kidnapping crimes on Friday.

Forty-two-year-old Dustin Lee of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree robbery after he reportedly stole from Happy Hour Vape on Skyline Drive while wielding a screwdriver as a weapon on March 10. Following the robbery, Hopkinsville police Officers located Lee in the Burger King parking lot.

Twenty-two-year-old Cheyenne Helton of Oak Grove and 21-year-old Alec Parmley of Hopkinsville were indicted in connection with an attempted robbery on March 14. The pair reportedly attempted to recover a vehicle from Riddle’s Towing Service in Oak Grove. Helton is charged with first-degree complicity to burglary, and Parmley is charged with first-degree attempted burglary.

Forty-six-year-old James Schramm of Missouri was indicted for multiple charges after he was reportedly driving while under the influence of alcohol on March 22. He was indicted on three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and possessing an open alcohol beverage in a motor vehicle.

Forty-seven-year-old Derick Moorefield of Hopkinsville was indicted for multiple charges after he reportedly assaulted and unlawfully restrained a victim on March 29, resulting in serious physical injuries. He was indicted for kidnapping with serious physical injury, two counts of first-degree sodomy, second-degree assault, first-degree strangulation, trafficking in marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

Twenty-seven-year-old Steven Cager of Hopkinsville was indicted for multiple charges after he reportedly led officers on a pursuit on March 21. He was indicted for first-and third-degree fleeing or evading police, trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, reckless driving, improper passing, failure to wear a seat belt and possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.
