Local grand jury returns indictments for endangerment, drug trafficking

A Christian County Grand Jury issued indictments for child abuse, drug trafficking, endangerment and sex related crimes on Friday.

Eglacia Hancock, age 33 of Hopkinsville, was indicted on a charge of second-degree criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12 for reported instances of child abuse between March and April.

Angel Gonzalez, age 40 of Hopkinsville was indicted on charges of first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 years old or younger and second-degree strangulation for a reported instance of abuse in April.

Jordan Houchens, age 19 of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of first-degree rape and first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor after Hopkinsville Police executed a search warrant at a residence on North McPherson Avenue on April 4.

Stephen Bussell, age 22 of Hopkinsville, was indicted on three counts of first-degree complicity to assault, seven counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence in connection to a drive-by shooting that occurred in April on West 17th Street. The shooting reportedly resulted in three minors and one adult being injured by gunfire.

Cole Lamonte, age 30 of Jackson, Tennessee, was indicted on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, improper passing, two counts of disregarding a stop sign, speeding and failure to wear a seat belt in connection to a pursuit in April.

Levi Banks, age 23 of Clarksville, was indicted on charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police, two counts of disregarding a stop sign, speeding, having an expired license plate and failure to produce proof of vehicle insurance in connection to pursuit in early April.

Turning toward drug related crimes, Rashad Coker, age 43 of Clarksville, was indicted on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, operating a vehicle on a suspended license, failure to signal and disregarding a stop sign in connection to an incident on April 18. Coker was reportedly pulled over for failing to use a turn signal and the responding officers found him to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

 Jorge Morales, age 34 of Clarksville, was reportedly in the vehicle with Coker and was arrested alongside him. Morales was indicted on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and failure to wear a seatbelt after he was reportedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana on April 18.
