Local law enforcement agencies welcoming new officers

Local law enforcement agencies are welcoming in new officers, after they have graduated from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training’s basic training academy.

According to a news release, the graduates received more than 800 hours of recruit-level instruction over 20 weeks. Major training areas included patrol procedures, physical training, vehicle operations, defensive tactics, criminal law, traffic and DUI, firearms, criminal investigations, cultural awareness, bias-related crimes and tactical responses to crisis situations.

New officers and deputies will be heading to their agencies, which includes Case Horn heading to the Elkton Police Department, Austin Marshall to the Todd County Sheriff’s Office, Harry Nguyen to the Oak Grove Police Department and Billy Courtway heading to the Cave City Police Department.
